1127544870 2014-01-09 Orphan No Violations The well is being evaluated by for eventual plugging. Crews from Moores Resources are opening the wellhead to evaluate current well depth and assess well construction. Surface expression of the well consists of a 3-inch casing and fittings for domestic service, which have been cut-off at some point in the past. There is a coupling to a 6-inch casing several inches below the level of the domestic fittings. The existing fitting has been leaking and has been repaired in a make-shift fashion by Dominion-East Ohio field crews. The wellhead is several inches below grade in a 24-inch square concrete vault with a drainage grate on the top. The wellhead currently has approx. 5 PSI residual pressure. The pressure is blown off over the course of several minutes. Using a sand line, the current TD is determined to be 260 +/- from grade. Further assessment indicates a possible depth to the bottom of the 3-inch casing to be at 160. The depth of the 6 casing may be around 240 but is unclear. The depth to water is around 100 below grade. The original wellhead is replaced and a new valve fitting is attached in place of the leaky one. Further down-hole assessment will be needed prior to developing a plugging strategy.
1420213716 2014-12-24 Orphan No Violations I inspected this location to assess current conditions of the well and the surrounding site. The wellhead has been vaulted with a square, pre-cast cement storm drain vault with cast-iron grating. The closure valve is stable and I did not detect any leakage. The surrounding area is comprised of an asphalt-paved parking and driveway for the newly-constructed multi-tenant apartment buildings.
1427062108 2015-03-13 Orphan No Violations I inspected this well as part of status update. The well is comprised of a 3-inch casing with closure swage in a shallow sub-surface vault strucutre. At the timeof this inspection, the fittings are secure and free from signs of leakage. The well vault is located in the parking lot of the apartment building referenced. There is a grate-style protective lid.
