1484330906 2017-01-13 Orphan No Violations I inspected this well location pursuant to a complaint (#5506). The nature of the complaint consists of a report of possible stray gas from an unidentified source, which was impacting the condominium facility located at Banks Landing Condominiums. The condominiums are located approximately 350 feet west of this well location, and approximately 40 feet topographically up gradient. At the time of this inspection, the visible elements of the well consist of a 6-inch diameter casing riser with a mechanically attached vent riser assembly. I did not note any gas odors or meter-detectable gas in the area around the well. I walked and inspected the areas around the well as well as the yard and wooded area that separate well property and the west adjacent condominium property. I did not note any evidence of impact or degradation. As part of this inspection, I met with the landowner (Eleanor Latshaw (Bennett)). Ms. Latshaw reports that well was on the property when her family acquired it in the 1950s. In the 1960s a contractor added the existing vent structure in lieu of plugging. She did not indicate that any problems or gas odors had been noted in the time since.
