1593191290 2010-06-21 Plug / Plug Back No Violations The Division received a call from the landowners daughter, Ms. Stacy Snowman, regarding Columbia Gas Transmission storage wells. Both Ms. Snowman and her father reside in California and have been informed by letter from Columbia that house gas will no longer be provided to their residential dwelling in Hocking County. Questions regarding the Ohio Revised Code and Administrative code were answered. Ms. Snowman was informed that lease disputes are a civil matter and to talk with an oil and gas attorney. Ms. Snowman also voiced concern for her father over a second well on property. She states steel casing above ground and would like to know if Columbia will take care of well before plugging the storage well. The house located on property is occupied by tenant, Mr. Mark Moore. Ms. Snowman does not know the physical address, but did provide telephone number for Mr. Moore. She requests that I speak with him about the well. Left voice mail message for Mr. Moore requesting return call. No call was returned. Located the property and conducted an interview with Mr. Moore at residence. Mr. Moore has rented this house for 20 years and has never seen the second well. Years ago, he spoke with previous landowner whom stated that a second well did exist, but was filled with cement in the 50s. The pine trees were planted after the well was plugged. Further stating that the well made oil, but company wanted only the gas. Confirmed location would be towards entrance to property, which matched coordinates. At time of inspection, vegetation was approx 3 tall bordered by area containing mature pine trees. Natural gas sales line runs through location. A metal detector was utililzed for the inspection however, no well bore or above ground casing was observed.
