1436533989 2015-07-08 Field Inspected, Well Not Found No Violations I inspected this well location at the request of Orange Village Maintenance Department. As part of recent earthwork activity performed in the area of the former well, crews reported that a casing riser was encountered and that water appeared to be emanating from the area around the casing. There was concern that the water was associated with the former well. Upon my inspection, I observed a portion of 11.74-inch steel casing pipe, partially exposed and lying at an extreme angle. The annular space of the casing is filled with cementitious material. The area around the casing is saturated with surface water. I tested the ponded water for chlorides with Quantab strips which indicated chloride levels of less than 100 mg/L. Further investigation revealed that the casing pipe was a short, discarded segment and not associated with the former well. The surface water in this area appears to be normal runoff from rainfall.
