1703518017 2016-11-14 UrbanProduction Wells No Violations I inspected this producing well as part of routine inspection activity. The well and associated tank battery are located within the confines of the Hawthorne Valley Country Club. Access to both the well and battery are afforded by an asphalt-paved, shared use road. Individual, short, dedicated, gravel-paved access roads service the well and battery. At the time of this inspection, the access roads were dry, well drained, and in good condition. The wellhead plunger lift system was enclosed in a small, chain-link enclosure, which was locked and secure. Valves and fittings were secure and free from leakage. The area surrounding the well was comprised of managed turf grass at the fringe of the golf course. I did not note any signs of environmental impact or degradation. The tank battery was comprised of one 140-barrel steel production tank, one 50-barrel steel brine tank, with horizontal separator unit and associated production appurtenances. The system was enclosed by chain-link fencing with locked gate. There was an earthen-berm style secondary containment which was intact and free from signs of spills or leakage. The load line valves were locked and secure. Tank lids were closed and secure. Process safety equipment was present. The areas surrounding the battery were comprised of small trees and brushy vegetation at the edge of the facility entrance drive. I did not note any signs of impact or concerns in the surrounding area. The ID signage was present and complete.
