1354198569 2012-11-28 Final Restoration No Violations Met with landowner Todd Hart and Father In Law Gary Haines. I explained to Both of them that Idle Orphan wells have nothing to do with Shale Rights. Todd took Chris Grim and I down to the well site. Well has been plugged back in the 70s. The land is reclaimed but the Todd claims to have seen gas percolating out of the ground. There is an old chair and a metal fence post at the area in question. He was hesitant to show us for the fear of messing up his shale rights. Chris Grim and or myself will follow up with this. Complaint #is 3751.
1354311019 2012-11-28 Orphan No Violations On the day of my inspection I met with ODNR Inspector Pat Shreve and the landowner to go back to look at the well site. The landowner claims that the well bubbles gas when it rains. The records indicate that this well was plugged in 1974. There was no well casing visible at the time of inspection. The landowner had the site marked where he had encountered gas. I did not detect any audible or visual signs of a gas leak, nor did I detect the odor of natural gas at the time of my inspection. The landowner also claimed that his water well is charged with natural gas and has been for some time.
