1547685147 2019-01-16 Casing String Witnessed No Violations On site inspection to witness the mine string cement job with Appalachian Drilling rig #1 on the hole along with C&J Cement Service. The rig has drilled a 24 diameter borehole to a measured depth of 527 with the coal seam encountered between the depths of 456 and 462. The rig pulled the drill string and inserted 508 of 18.625 diameter J-5 Grade Buttress Thread casing with a guide shoe ran along with casing centralizers and (2) 1 grout strings attached to the outside of the casing string. The 1 strings ran down to the cement basket set at 423. No water was encountered while drilling the well bore and 300 barrels of fresh water was ran ahead of the cement in attempt to gain circulation. Upon the pumping of the fresh water a string line was ran inside the casing and fluid level confirmed at 460. At that point C&J air dropped from surface a 34.5 barrel cement mix inside the 18.625 casing in attempt to seal between annular of the 18.625 casing between the casing shoe and coal seam. The 34.5 barrel cement mix consisted of 160 sacks of class A cement with the cement weight verified at 15.6 pound per gallon by weight of scale. Proceeding the bottom balance cement job a 10 barrel volume cement slurry was pumped down the 1 string in attempt to seal above the cement basket. The cement will be allowed to set for 3 hours before continuing the top out job.
1547747034 2019-01-17 Urban Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations On this day I was on site to verify the previous set and cemented 18.625 diameter casing string top of cement on the annular of the string. The top of cement was verified after the drilling rig air body stack was removed to nipple up the annular Blow out preventer well control device. A flange will be welded to the 18.625 diameter casing changing it over to 21.250 to allow the Annular BOP to fit. Appalachian Drilling rig #1 is on the hole and the 18.625 was topped off above the basket through the night after the initial bottom balance cement job and the placement of 10 barrels of cement on the basket. The annular took 141 barrels of cement with 5 barrels excess returned to the cellar. The company will continue to install the Annular BOP before testing the 18.625 casing integrity then drilling out the shoe track and hydrostatically testing the 18.625 casing shoe.
