They set a gel pill with lcm and pulled drill pipe into the 9 5/8 casing. Topping off as needed. I talked with mud engineer and company man. I talked with TOOL pusher on Les Wilson rig 30.

The BOP test could not be completed at present time because of wrong rubber size for the job. The CNX engineer Jay Hewitt notified me on a situation with water leaking out of hill. There were four places. There was a 4flow and two 2flows.There was also a 8plastic corrugated pipe that was used for a french drain between the pit and the west wall of the location. I contacted Supervisor Simmers and Inspector Moravy. They told me to notify Inspector Farnsworth to assist me with this situation. I contacted Inspector Farnsworth and he would be in route ASAP.I started taking samples of the water.WS-1 was taken at the 4stream down over the north end of the pit.WS-2 was taken at the sediment trap.WS-3 was taken at the center of the pit.Quantab readings revealed that the chlorides were 10,000-13,000ppm at WS-1 and WS-2.WS-3 and at site behind rig indicated that the chlorides were higher than that.Baroid employee Titus Robinson took samples also. He indicated that the ground water sample was at a chloride level at 13,000ppm.The pit sample was at a 28,000ppm in chlorides. Jay Hewitt contacted the construction team and advised them that he needed them on site to construct the containment pit down over hill. At this point in time, the source of water is yet to be determined. I contacted Tom Tomastik in Columbus and he advised that there were no wells in area near the CNX site.Delrick construction showed up and started to get prepared to construct the containment pit. Approximately 6:00pm Inspector Farnsworth arrived and Hewitt and I briefed him about the situation. We assessed the pit and the water flowing out of the hillside. There was no visible indication on the pit liner that there was a fluid loss from the drilling pit at this time. Inspection of the drilling pit revealed that pit liner was scorched and melted during the flaring of the Utica gas. We observed that the fluid level was at the l

Will trip out all pipe out of hole and mud up.

Water trucks are not available today but water is contained. Chris stated that he has pictures. The trap/impoundment has been pulled down and they will line with a pit liner. I stated that we will continually monitor the chlorides.

1282131430 2010-08-12 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations On day of inspection Jay Hewitt called stated that there be a BOP Test at 8:00am.The test would consist of testing pipe rams,choke,kill line,annular,sheer rams. The test would be later today because of well head rubber size is 9 5/8 and Green energy group brought 11well head rubber. The test revealed that we tested pipe rams, shear rams,annular,kill line to 250psi for 10min on low and 4500psi for 15min on high side. We tested choke to 4000psi on high and 250psi on low side. BOP test passed.
1282237901 2010-08-18 Drill / Deepen / Reopen No Violations On day of inspection went in to site and took a chloride reading on a quantab and it revealed that the water has dropped back to 2400ppm on chlorides. It is all being contained and monitored. Still extracting from the drill pit. Rig drilled into Utica shale and drilled through and hit a good flare on 10.2ppg on drill mud and showed 350units.Met with Jim Black and Jay Hewitt and Chris Miller. At 4:30 was at 8528.Just getting into the Trenton. The will take samples every 10 for mud logger.

It was causing soap suds on hillside and I told Black to get some environmental friendly de foamer sent to site. I was told that a tote of biodegradable soap was opened up and causing the problem. Up on inspection found that there was 25 roll offs on site and the company was loading them with pit cuttings. They will remove the pit liner and install fire clay in the bottom of the pit. All cuttings are hauled to an approved landfill.

It was determined that tubing has leak and while testing the plug they set inside of packer with wire line got stuck they will attempt to free it up tomorrow and retrieve is they are unsuccessful they will pull packer and tubing.

Water trucks were hauling out of the pit. I took Quantab samples from the holes on the hill down to where there is a lined containment pit and down to culvert at St.Rt.800.The chlorides were at 5800 ppm. From the culvert to creek that runs parallel with State Route 800 The Chlorides were at .01 Parts Per Million. I told Chris Miller the CNX Consultant to haul out of the pit and the trap. Line the trap and from now on haul the fluids. I will be stopping in to Quantab the site and check chlorides.

Note: Well was shut down until repairs can be made !!.
