1411479041 2014-09-09 Exempt Well Pre Transfer No Violations Inspection of this well was in response to a request from Cynthia Marshall in the Columbus office to determine the current use of the well. My inspection found the tank battery and the well are fully equipped to produce the well. The valve from the separator to the sales line was closed. I spoke with Babara Ward, she told me the well is only being used for the gas supply to her home. I found no compliance issues with this well.
1469207973 2016-07-22 Orphan No Violations I inspected this well location as an evaluation for orphan well. At the time of this inspection, the I observed the following elements: a wellhead with electrical pump jack system located in a agricultural field and an associated tank battery located next to the road. Flowline valves at the pump jack were open. There was a 10 sq. ft area of oil-impacted soils around the wellhead from leakage or spills along with several 5-gallon containers of recovered oil stored near the well. Much of the surrounding area was overgrown with vegetation, with actively-worked farm field beyond. The battery was comprised of one 210-barrel steel production tank and mechanical separator. The tank was showing many areas of corrosion but no observed perforations. There was an area of oil leakage near the bottom connection fro ma possible fitting or weld failure. There was secondary containment present with much of the interior area overgrown with vegetation. There was an estimated 50 barrels of fluid in the tank. I met with Nick Ward, brother of the former owner. He indicated that the property and well were in probate following the death of Clifford Ward. He was expecting to inherit the land including ownership of the well, and had interest in maintaining the well following resolution of the probate case. I advised him to contact the Division following resolution of the case.
