0011722826 2016-03-01 Production Wells No Violations The well is equipped with surface casing with a swage on it. The swage is open on top. The well sounds like gas is either bubbling through fluid in the well bore or water is running in the well bore. There was no gas odor around the well. The gas meter alarmed for methane at the wellhead. The previous owner of the well was Columbia Gas. There is no indication in the records whether or not the well was intended to be left for fresh water. The records in the images indicate that inspector Roland Cox witnessed plugging in 1971. Cement was placed from total depth to 1850 feet. The remainder of the plugs were fireclay and bridge plugs. Clay was placed from 1850 to 1650. A stone bridge was placed from 600 to 575. The well was filled with clay from 575 to surface. Clay is not presently at surface. Columbia Gas was contacted about the well. They are going to look at it. All formations were indicated as dry on the drilling record.
