From 1950 to 1951, the Marjack Well No. 4 well was drilled. It was operated until 1971, when it was subsequently abandoned after having never recorded production.

The well’s most recent owner, Legal Oil and Gas Ltd., was petitioned into bankruptcy in 2001 and began to liquidate and distribute its assets to unpaid creditors.[1] In 2003, attempts by Legal Oil and Gas Ltd. to transfer licenses of select assets were denied, due to concerns with the company’s history of failing to reclaim its polluted properties and suspicious asset transfers between family members involved with the company.[2] The Marjack Well No. 4 was reclaimed at an unspecified time after the abandonment and is currently RecCertified.
