2764839 | Primary Facility | 2018-08-15 | Routine/Complete Inspection | No Violations Noted | On 8/15/2018 at approximately 1300, I conducted a site inspection of the Malinky Well Site located in Smith Township, Washington County in response to a reported spill of reuse water from a blender tub overflow. I met with Brandon Carson (Range Resources)on site to discuss the incident and associated remediation plans.
At approximately 1115 on 8/14/2018, a blender tub overflowed resulting in the release of approximately 20 barrels of reuse water to secondary containment. The fluid was removed from containment by an onsite vac truck. Around 1330 on 8/14/2018, a secondary containment deficiency was observed during a follow up inspection. A seam on the containment was not fully fused together which allowed approximately 10-20 gallons of reuse water to release to the gravel pad. Specialized Professional Services Inc. responded and remediated the impacted area placing the material into one roll-off box. The area which was remediated appeared to be consistent with the approximate amount spilled to the gravel pa |
