1975551 | 2011-04-19 | Pending | While investigating a private well complaint (#278664) in the area, I stopped at Atlas Energy¿s Robin Hill complex to check and see of any of the activities in this area could be tied to the private well problems.
One of the sites I stopped at was the Robin Hill #15 & #18 pad. Both of these wells are currently in production. Here I found three problems: 1) The pads showed signs of accelerated erosion and the silt fence needed repair. The gullies are not a violation because all the flow still went through the sediment traps. However, soil stabilization now could prevent more serious problems later. 2) The site was pretty trashy with debris simply thrown over the sides of the pad. 3) The site is built on what appears to be old strip-mine spoil piles and I noticed drainage coming from the pad¿s north side that looked like it might be acid rock drainage (ARD). I took a sample for lab analysis and some photographs. I took some photographs and GPS coordinates and left at about 12:40. |
