Inspection ID Inspection Category Inspection Date Inspection Type Inspection Result Inspection Comments
2762228 Primary Facility 2018-08-09 Complaint Inspection No Violations Noted This well located in the yard, near a storage shelter, of a residence owned by the Hoovers. The well was added to DEP abandoned well list in 1992. There is water entering through a breach in the well casing at ~60 feet.

This inspection completed during the investigation of a service request concerning the increase of iron in the water supply at the Hoover residence. The water supply for the Hoover residence is a well located ~150 feet south of this abandoned well. Comparison of water samples taken between 1992 and 2017 shows a significant increase in iron. Mr. Hoover is concerned that the location of this well in relation to his water well may be causing the increase in iron over that past 25 years. Mr. Hoover is currently working with the Clarion County Conservation District to obtain funding to plug this abandoned well.
